Actually, I'm looking at getting 3d printing capability - mostly for my Dalek.

Not sure there is enough room in the base for a smoke generator and the motor. Also, I'd rather start with a working model first, then figure our how to make it resemble the dubious physics in the movie later.

Well, you could use shapeways.com and have them quote you... or find someone with a printer.

As far as cost goes, its probably around $5-30 depending on how much infill (hollowness) and the scale you have it at. At least if you use cheaper filament, already have a printer etc...
